Girls in STEM
Thank you for a wonderful event! Check back
We are so excited to announce our 3rd Steps to Success: Girls in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) event at WSB & Associates on Saturday, February 11th. Although girls show interest in STEM in high school, this interest does not convert to majoring in STEM or pursuing careers in the field. Women make up only 38 percent of recent college graduates with STEM degrees.
A huge thank you to WSB & Software for Good for co-sponsoring the event!

Frequently Asked Questions
Who should attend? The Girls in STEM event content is primarily geared toward girls in middle and high school looking to explore careers in STEM fields but women of all ages are more than welcome!
Why should I attend? This will be a fantastic opportunity to connect with successful women in the local STEM community! Learn about their career journeys, understand what inspires them and explore whether this might be a path for you. What should I expect? The event will include a panel discussion by local women who are work in STEM fields and interactive activities that will be a fun way for girls to explore different ways to create. Can parents attend? YES! Attending with your daughter is highly encouraged! If your daughter is interested in pursuing a career in STEM, the panel discussion will be great for you to participate in. While the girls are involved in the interactive activities, we will be facilitating a focus group for parents where we seek to better understand specific gaps in helping girls achieve leadership roles – participation in this is optional. How much does this cost? This event is sponsored by the Center for Girls’ Leadership and is free! As a co-sponsor, WSB University is graciously donating the space for the event. Space is limited, prior registration is required. How do I register? Fill out the form on the right for each person attending the event. Can I volunteer to help with the event? Absolutely! Please complete the interest form on our website and someone will contact you with details on how you can help. What about parking? Free parking is available in the adjacent parking lot. Sponsors: |
